Cwmaman is included in the index of multiple deprivation and falls within the top 10% of most deprived wards in Wales. The village is isolated, from the mainstream economic and social dynamics of the region and unemployment levels are higher than the Welsh national average.

The Communities First Partnership
Cwmaman Communities First Partnership was established in October 2001 to address these problems and aims to bring together individuals, voluntary groups, and public and private sector organisations in the community, to help create a better future for the area.

This Action Plan, "Our Vision - Our Future" maps out how we intend to address the problems identified by the community.
